Food Plant: Populus tremula (Aspen)

Mine: early Summer (May-July)

Notes: An uncommon miner. Makes large reddish-brown mines, which can occupy the leaf. Frass is ejected from the mine by the larva.

An early mine is shown and the larva can be seen at the left edge.
