Food Plant: Populus tremula (Aspen)

Mine: early Summer (May-July)

Notes: An uncommon miner. Makes large reddish-brown mines, which can occupy the leaf. Frass is ejected from the mine by the larva. The developmeny of the mine can be seen in the above, from the mine on Populus x canadensis. The dates are 23.vii.2014 (top); 27.vii.2014; 27.vii.2014; 27.vii.2014; 30.vii.2014 (bottom photo).
