Food Plant: Trifolium pratense (Red Clover) Mine: July - September (then overwintering) Notes: The young larva feeds on the green seeds and only forms the case (above) in the forth instar. the case is 6mm log and turns red-brown (as shown). Larva above were first seen on 01.vii.2007. The patterning of the dorsal sclerites can be seen, with the median sulcus of the prothoracic plate and the mesothoracic plate being divided into four sclerites.
