Food Plant: Malus domestica (Apple) Egg: laid at the receptacle base Mine: April-June Notes: The first instar larvae mine the developing apples superficially, leaving a scar on the growing fruilet surface (as shown on Norfolk Royal Russet apple). Later instar larvae move to a nearby fruilet and burrow into it to reach the seeds, on which they feed.
