Notes: The first instar larvae mine the developing apples superficially, leaving a scar on the growing fruilet surface (as shown on Golden Noble apple). Later instar larvae move to a nearby fruilet and burrow into it to reach the seeds, on which they feed. Some larvae may repeat this up to three times.The fully grown larva exits the fruit to form a cocoon in the soil.
