Fenusa pumila (Leach, 1817)
< back
the distinctive larvae have four ventral spots

Food Plant: Betula (Birch)

Mine: early Summer and early Autumn

Pupa: outside the mine

Notes: Formerly F.pusilla. The mine is a blotch on the upper side of the leaf. It starts by the midrib and extends towards the leaf edge. The larvae have four spots - the anterior spots being large (as shown) which distinguishes it from P.thomsoni.
