Food Plant : Achillea millefolium (Yarrow), Artemisia vulgaris (Mugwort), Centaurea scabiosa (Greater Knapweed), Hieracium umbellatum (Umbellate Hawkweed), Senecio erucifolius (Hoary Ragwort), S. jacobaea (Common Ragwort) Recorded Elsewhere: Crepis biennis (Rough Hawks-beard), Hieracium umbellatum (Umbellate Hawkweed), Picris hieracioides (Hawkweed Oxtongue) Mine: Summer Notes: Lives as a stem borer with adults emerging from puparia in the late spring onwards. The puparium has posterior spiracles on two adjoining plates with strong central horns surrounded by pale pores (this distingiushes it form M.dettmeri where the surrounding pores are dark).
