a blotch mine is formed at the tip of the pinna lobe

Food Plant: Pteridium (Bracken), Dryopteris, recorded from Athyrium (Lady Fern)elsewhere.

Mine: Univoltine: summer.

Notes: An upperside blotch at the tip of a pinna lobe. Locally common in shady places. A similar mine is made on Bracken - Chirosia flavipennis and adults must be reaed to identify.
