Food Plant: Populus (Poplar): P.nigra (Black Poplar), P.x canadensis (Canadian Poplar) Mine: late Summer Notes: Forms an elongated blotch mine. The adults must be reared to identify this species as identical mines, with external pupariation, have been found with some mines of A.populi, where they form blotch mines (Warrington 2022). Homan (2024) found a mine of A.populi which showwed the typical gallery mine on the underside of a leaf but then swapped to the upper side and mimicked the morpholgy of a mine of A.populicola!
