Food Plant: Ballota nigra (Black Horehound), Lamium spp. (Dead-nettle), Marrubium vulgare ( White Horehound), Stachys spp. (Woundwort)

Mine: Summer and early autumn

Notes: The frass is conspicuous in the mine and the mine is initially linear (as shown), then develops into a white blotch, often enveloping this early mine
