Mine: August - September

Notes: A gallery contorted, “gut”-shaped. The larva is yellow. The mine can resemble S.viscerella and the fresh frass can be reddish in colour (as shown). It is initially in concentric circles, whereas the initial mine of S.viscerella is in a zig-zag pattern.
