Food Plant: Scabiosa columbaria (Small scabious) Egg: Underside of a lower leaf, which is usually buried in the grass Mine: July -August; October -April Notes: The mine formed strongly contracts the leaf and the underside has several longitudinal folds (as shown). The upper surface is inflated and the mottled in appearance, with a purplish tinge.
