Food Plant: Quercus spp. (Deciduous Oak) Egg: laid on the underside of a leaf Mine: July; Sept-October Notes: Makes a very large underside mine, often extending from the midrib to the leaf margin. The leaf can be bent over as the mine contracts. The leaf parenchyma is eaten and a rough central patch remains (as shown). There may be several mines in a leaf. A local and uncommon miner.
