Notes: The initial mine is towards the leaf tip but then it changes direction to form an elongated blotch, which may occupy half the width of a leaf. The greenish or grey frass mostly is found in the early part of the mine. The mine is yellow white to grey. Found in wet bogs or on acid heathsComparison of an older (top) and younger (bottom) larva in mines on Greater Pond Sedge. Larvae are initially yellow with a dark head, darkening to grey with a brown head as they grow. Adults reared and ID confirmed via gen det by Peter Hall.
