Notes: Mines downwards from leaf tip to stem. Makes a long narrow yellowish mine. May be up to four larvae in one leaf. The larvae are yellowish with a brown head and prothoracic plate. The same mine on Schendonorus arundinaceus photographed from above (top) and below (bottom), showing that mines are not quite the full depth of the leaf, and mostly in the lower part of the leaf. This can sometimes make mines difficult to detect from above. Adult reared.
