Food Plant: Bolboschoenus maritimus (Sea Club-rush) , Juncus gerardii (rush), J.compressus (rush)

Egg: laid on a leaf

Mine: April-June

Notes: Makes a short broad greenish-white mine in the upper part of the leaf. The frass is deposited in the middle of the mine as a dark mass. Pupation occurs on the midrib of the host plant in a slight web. A brownish mine on in the centre of the image. The larva mines right through the leaf, weakening it, and this one has bent at the top of the mine as a result.

Data: 20.v.2022, Gann Estuary, Pembrokeshire, VC45.
