Food Plant: Rubus, especially Rubus fruticosus (Bramble)

Egg: Upper surface of the leaf

Mine: July, September - March

Notes: A gallery leading to whitish blotch. The larvae from the autumn generation (as illustrated) feed throughout the winter. The larvae are pale green in colour and have a large dark prothoracic plate, with a median sulcus. Pupation occurs inside the mine. Mines in shaded places can be large. Fauna Europaea name: Coptotriche marginea
