Food Plant: Deschampsia cespitosa (Tufted Hair-grass), Anthoxanthum odoratum (Sweet Vernal-grass), Poa pratensis (Smooth Meadow-grass), Agrostis spp.(Bent), Festuca spp. (Fescue), Holcus spp. (Soft-grass), Carex spp (sedge), Brachypodium sylvaticum (False Brome). Egg: on upper half of leaf blade Mine: March-May Notes: Generally the mine is the full width of the leaf (as shown) and extends from the leaf tip. It is white and the frass is scattered. Usually found in sheltered habitats. Mine shown on Deschampsia cespitosa (Tufted Hair-grass).
