Notes: Mining starts in the autumn and one or two larvae may mine a leaf. The mine starts at the leaf tip or is directed to this, with frass packed at the beginning of the mine (as shown with larva). After hibernation a new leaf is mined downwards forming a broad irregular, whitish gallery mine. Pupation occurs on the ground. Found in sheletered woodland glades. Mine shown on Deschampsia cespitosa (Tufted Hair-grass).
