Food Plant: Quercus spp.(Oaks) Mine: late September to late October, then April to early June Notes: First case formed of silk, larva mining leaves. Feeding in spring in a new case on catkins and also mining leaves. Very similar to case of C. flavipennella. the winter case is shown and is distinguished from that of C.flavipennella as it does not have a dorsal hump of old leaf material near the anal end.
