< back

Food Plant: Stellaria holostea (Greater Stitchwort) , Cerastium spp . (Chickweed), Silene maritima (Sea Campion), S.dioica (Red Campion)

Mine: September to October, feeding again from March to May.

Notes:  Larva mines leaves, making greenish-white blotches (this enables a distinction with Col.solitariella which makes whitish blotches). The final case is tubular, 8mm long, with a dorsal keel which forks and continues as two ridges to the anal end of the case. The forked dorsal keel is developing, but is not shown in this lateral view.
