Food Plant: Rosaceous trees, esp. Malus (apple), Crataegus (hawthorn)

Mine: Two-year life-cycle. September, feeding again from April to June. After aestivation and a second winter, feeding is completed in June of the second year.

Notes: Larva mines leaves. The first case has a semi-circular anal end, and is extended  until the second spring. The final case is excised from a leaf in April, and is tubular, 8-11mm long and sits upright on the leaf (as shown)
