large blotch formed

Food Plant: Rubus fruticosus

Mine: September-November

Notes: A rare leaf miner. It forms a large blotch in the leaf, which is initially greenish-yellow - turning brown as the mine ages. The mine hardly contracts, which enables distinction with C.marginea. Frass is ejected from the mine. Pupation is within the mine. First discovered in Kent in 1984. Formerly Tischeria, Emmetia heinemanni. Mine shown on Rubus caesius
