Food Plant: Quercus spp. (Oaks)

Mine: Late September to late October, then April to late May

Notes: First case formed of silk, including a small leaf fragment, larva mining leaves. The small feeding marks are shown. The position of the winter case is shown by the arrow in the bottom photo. The winter case of C. lutipennella does not have this patch. Feeding in spring in a new case on catkins and also mining leaves. Very similar to case of C. lutipennella.
