Food Plant: Tilia (Lime) Egg: Underside of leaf Mine: July - August Notes: A narrow mine almost filled with black frass, usually following leaf-vein.
The cocoon is formed either on the trunk of the tree or in leaf litter (as photo) and has a ridged appearance. The pupa over winters in the cocoon.

This cocoon was found at the base of a small-leaved lime tree and had lost its cap exposing the pupa.
