Food Plant: Tilia (Lime)

Egg: Underside of leaf

Mine: July - August (bivoltine in the south in some years)

Notes: A narrow mine almost filled with black frass, usually following leaf-vein. After leaving the mine the larva window feeds. The larva is a pale colour, with a pale yellow head with reddish-brown mouthparts(as shown). The cocoon is formed either on the trunk of the tree or in leaf litter.
