Egg: Underside of leaf

Mine: July - August (bivoltine in the south in some years)

Notes: A narrow mine almost filled with black frass, usually following leaf-vein (as shown). After leaving the mine the larva window feeds (as shown). The cocoon is formed either on the trunk of the tree or in leaf litter. Mine illustrated is on small-leaved lime (T.cordata).
