Food Plant: Crataegus (Hawthorn), Malus (Apple), Pyrus (Pear), Sorbus (Whitebeam/Rowan). Egg: Upper surface of leaf Mine: July -August Notes: A short contorted gallery, near midrib or side-vein. Mine shown on hawthorn. The larva is mature and 6.0mm long and can be seen grazing the leaf surface. the prothorax is lightly speckled (bottom photo).
