Food Plant: Abies spp. (Fir)

Mine: Autumn-April

Notes: Mines the needle tips and turns them white (as shown). Does not spin the leaves together. The larva leaves a mine through a hole made in the leaf (as shown - left mined needle) and may mine other leaves. It spins a white cocoon on the leaf underside to pupate. Present throughout Europe and Scandinavia.
