Food Plant: Allium spp. Onion, Leek, Garlic, Shallot, Chives

Egg: at base of plant

Mine: May - June; August - October

Notes: Can cause damage to crops. The larvae mine the leaves at first. In leeks it then bores through them and later enters the middle to feed on the inner leaves. In onion it feeds inside the leaves and can enter the bulb to feed. The pupa forms in a network (as shown) either on a plant or ground
