Food Plant: Salix spp. (Willow)

Mine: Summer and Autumn

Pupa: In the mine in a large transparent cocoon

Notes: Forms a large blotch mine, with little frass.The larva has short legs. Dorsally the prothorax is darkly pigmented and has a thin median sulcus. The characteristic (of Heterarthrus species) prosternal collar is evident in the ventral view above. There are two further spots on the sternum.
