Food Plant: Acer pseudoplatanus (Sycamore) only.

Mine: Univoltine: early summer.

Notes: A large, upper surface marginal blotch, usually going brown and usually with an excised hole, which is characteristic of Heterarthrus species. A widespread miner of Sycamore. The developing mine is shown, which has been parasitised. Two cocoons of Phanomeris sp. (a braconid) are visible in the mine.
