Notes: The galls develop over the summer, becoming brown towards autumn, being up to 10 cms long. They contain larvae in one or more chambers. The larvae remain in these chambers over winter and pupate in the spring. The adults emerge once the gall has rotted and disintegrated. Found more commonly in southern Britain.
