Food Plant: Solidago virgaurea (Goldenrod) Recorded Elsewhere: Bellis (Daisy)

Mine: June-August (Hering, 1957)

Notes: Forms whitish upper surface mines with frass in (mostly) connected strips, as shown with incident light and transmitted light (top then bottom photo). Pupariation is outside the leaf with the exit slit usually in the upper epidermis. A black puparium is formed. Older mines can turn a reddish-purple.
