Food Plant: Lychnis flos-cuculi (Ragged-Robin), Moehringia trinervia (Three-nerved Sandwort), Silene dioica (Red Campion)

Notes: A narrow corridor is formed in the leaf and this runs into the stem as a shallow external stem mine. The mine may be long, often being >30cms long (in this case it was 43cms long).The frass is formed in widely spaced grains (as shown). Pupariation is usually below a leaf node. The puparium is a pale brown and the posterior spiracles each have 9-11 bulbs. A local species. The adullts were bred through to confirm identity. The mine shown is on Silene dioica (Red Campion).
