Food Plant: Eupatorium cannabinum (Hemp Agrimony), Galeopsis tetrahit (Common Hemp-nettle), Solidago virgaurea (Golden-rod). Rarely on Aster, Helianthus (Sunflower), Lapsana (Nipplewort).

Mine: Bivoltine: late spring & summer. Posterior spiracles of larva (puparium) each with 3 bulbs.

Pupa: Outside the mine

Notes: Long upper surface gallery starting with a spiral of 6 to 8 turns (as shown). Frass in conspicuous narrow linear lines. Local: Surrey, Hampshire, Dorset, Cambridgeshire, Warwickshire. Mine shown on Hemp Agrimony.
