Food Plant: Alnus sp. (Alder), Betula sp. (Birch) Egg: Underside of leaf Mine: Early Summer Notes: Initially a gallery is formed which runs towards the leaf edge from a vein. The mine then becomes a blotch and a spherical cocoon develops in this. The developing mine, with larva, is shown on A.glutinosa. The bottom photo shows more detail of the top photo.
