Food Plant: Betula (Birch) Mine: Bivoltine: late spring & summer Pupa: Outside the mine in the cut-out disc Notes: A broad gallery with scattered frass, usually along the edge of the leaf, ending at a circular blotch from which a case is cut leaving a round hole. (Formerly called Rhynchaenus rusci). The larva is a yellow colour, with distinctive anterior markings. The adult is shown and the bottom photo is the first record of this leaf miner in Belgium.
