Food Plant: Alnus (Alder), Betula (Birch), Myrica gale (Bog Myrtle) Mine: June to August Pupa: Inside the leaf in a globular cocoon Notes: The mine is rather flat and not inflated, unlike some other Orchestes species. The larva is yellow and has turned white in the preservative used. The larval head is shown in dorsal (top ) and the mouthparts (bottom). A southern species in the UK.
