Orchestes fagi (Linnaeus, 1758)
< back
the initial gallery is very thin

Food Plant: Fagus (beech)

Mine: Univoltine: early summer

Pupa: Inside the mine

Notes: The mine starts as a corridor at the midrib and ends in a blotch. (Formerly called Rhynchaenus fagi).

The initial gallery can cause confusion with a lepidopterous mine.
