Food Plant: Echium vulgare (Viper's Bugloss)

Egg: laid amongst the flowers

Mine: August-October

Notes: Feeds on the pith within the stem and forms a tough cocoon (several are shown), about twice the length of the larva, in which it overwinters. Can be common where the foodplant occurs.
