Food Plant: Populus alba (White Poplar), Populus canescens (Grey Poplar) Egg: Usually upperside of the leaf Mine: June-July, August-September Pupa: Under a silk membrane on the margin of leaf. The anterior end is distinctive, with a curved point, and the cremaster has two lateral spines (as shown). Notes: A 'snail-trail'-like mine on the upper surface, long and sinuous, with a dark central frass trail, ending at the leaf margin.
