Food Plant: Echium vulgare (Vipers Bugloss)


Notes: Initially forms a narrow twisting gallery which then forms an elongated blotch mine with a wrinkled surface (as shown). The purple staining of the galleries and blotch is chatacteristic. First recorded in the UK in Kent (2004), when a moth was trapped. Multivoltine. A predominantly Southern European species. Moth was bred from the mine illustrated.
