Food Plant: Humulus lupulus (hop)

Mine: July - September

Pupa: In the detritus on the ground. The larva hibernates in its cocoon before it pupates. The top photo shows the cocoon - the larva formed this in tissue in captivity. The bottom photo shows the pupating larva in the cocoon.

Notes: The larva makes a gallery by a vein or along the midrib and feeding branches can be seen emanating from this. The larva can be seen in the mine ( the arrow indicates its head).
