Food Plant: Quercus (Oak)

Mine: July, September - October

Notes: A short contorted gallery, usually near midrib. The larva in the free feeding phase eats windows from the leaf under surface (as shown) and is a grey-green, with white lateral and dorsal spots. The larva pupates in a whitish cocoon - spun on a leaf in Summer and on the trunk in autumn.
