Food Plant: Leycesteria formosa (Flowering Nutmeg), Lonicera periclymenum (Honeysuckle), Symphoricarpos rivularis (Snowberry) Mine: April - June Notes: Leaf mine is formed in the young tender leaf. Larva forming long white mine which widens. The pupation is external and the posterior spiracles have a distinctive horn-like process within the ellipse of bulbs.
The top photo shows a freshly formed pupa, which is a pale yellow colour - note the two pairs of spiracles (anterior and posterior) The pupa then becomes darker and the characteristic transverse red papillae can be seen. The bottom photo shows the distinctive horn-like processes in the posterior spiracles.
